Digital BW, The Print

In the sample MIS 2400 B&W prints I've seen, I really don't see any
significant gloss differential.  MIS says they have not quite reached the
R800 super gloss point, but they look quite glossy to me.  

The one area in the B&W samples where I can detect some gloss differential
is in the brightest highlights.  There the paper is not quite as glossy in
the extreme highlights as the light white grays next to the paper white.  (I
assume the paper is Epson Premium Glossy paper.  It has "Epson" on the back
and has buffered interior paper.)

In the color samples, I can see a slight reflective differential between
strong colors that are next to each other, but it's not bad.

I was not given a sample of a new PK.  In the past I thought the duller
black was an area where the coated Epson pigs might have an inherent
advantage.  However, what I'm seeing on the sample prints is a black that is
as glossy as the midtones.  So, I'd say the third party suppliers have made
some real progress with the PK gloss as well as with the bronzing. The dmax
of the black patch is 2.11, and just a hair warm Lab = (7.07, 0.30, 0.12).
