Re: [Digital BW] Re: More R2400 ABW experiments + Ink costs

I dont know how to get a reading of exactly how much ink is left.....On
my mac utility, it just shows me a graphic of each cart, and a blur
that says "you have enough ink left to print 22 more prints like the
last one. Basically I have made 35 prints, almost all of them were B/W,
and the LLK, LK, LC, and LM carts are about 1/3 full, which makes sense
in regards to the "22 more prints" caption. The photo K is still well
above half full, and the other three carts are almost full.
Calumet charges me $14 per cart, so 60 prints would use the four carts
plus about 2/3 of a photo K.
14 x 4 +56
add 10 for 2/3 of a PK cart = 66
divide $66 by 60 prints
you get $1.16 ink per print
add 15 cents for kirkland paper
you get 1.31 per print.
The most significant factor for me however by far is the absence of a
trash can full of bad or gradually getting better but still not quite
right "test prints"
That right there cuts the real cost per print down dramatically, for me
at least.
I have been doing lots of different kinds of images, some of which were
very black, and some were very "high key", and in between.
That is how my first set of carts is going so far...DM
