Filling MIS carts -- sponge only partly soaked?

2005-08-04 by Jordan Wosnick

Hi all

Yesterday I had my first go at filling a cart with MIS Eboni for my
C86. (I use the MIS EZ inks.) Things went fairly well (with a
little ink spilled, but no big deal) until near the end...

The instructions from MIS state that after filling and "priming"
with the bottom-fill adapter, the ink should soak into the sponge
over the course of an hour. I "primed" the cart (withdrawing just
over 1 ml of ink) and the sponge did begin to soak with ink.

But after an hour, and even after leaving the cart standing upright
overnight, only about 1/3 of the sponge had soaked up ink -- the
rest of it was still "snowy white".

Is this a problem for printing, and how do I solve it?

Many thanks

Jordan
