I use Eboni and QTR with the 2200. FWIW Eboni hasn't had a noticeable effect
on the QTR curves with that printer. The only difference I see with Eboni is
a slightly cooler tone than the Epson MK. I've seen measurements by others
showing about a .12 gain in density with Eboni, i.e. less than half a stop
increase, which I don't think is enough to be noticeable except maybe in a
side by side comparison. I also don't see any significant effect on color
though I don't do much color so perhaps I'm not as demanding with it as
someone else might be.

Subject: [Digital BW] Eboni black vs UC Matt Black on 4000 w/ QTR

Apologies for asking a that has already been answered, but the searching
didn't turn up an
answer to my question.

I use QTR with UC inks in an Epson 4000 for my prints. Want to try Eboni in
the black
position keeping the other UC inks. How significantly does this affect the
results if one
continues to use the standard QTR profiles as well as it's affect on color
prints?

Guidance appreciated.

Jim
