Hello Khaled, Welcome to the forum. I can answer one of your questions >1.- Is it possible to print BO using QTR with this printer? It is possible to print BO with QTR, I'm experimenting with that right now, so yes if QTR works with the R800. It's easy to modify an existing curve file and set all inks besides K to "not used", then save it with a new filename. The challenge I've found is that the resulting ramp is not anything like the ramp that the Epson drivers give in BO mode, so the prints look pretty bad. Epson obviously knows how to do it, so what I'm doing is modifying the QTR curve to make a ramp as much as possible like the Epson one. I'm not done yet but am making progress. I'll be happy to share the curve once I get it finished. >What I'm looking for is to be able to print with carbon only inks >in matte paper, as close to neutral as possible (a little warm is >ok) If you're using BO then, as you probably know, you get the tone you want by using the appropriate paper. When you use a carbon only grayscale ink set everything stays pretty warm, even on the cooler papers. This is because the lighter inks tend to be warmer than the K. So while Eboni by itself can go cold on a paper such as Condor BW, when warmer lighter inks are mixed in they override the K and keep the overall tone pretty warm. This is why most of the carbon based grayscale inksets use color ink toners. They allow control over these things and give a wider range of tones. So if you want carbon only and cool tones, then BO is a good way to do it, especially with Eboni. >deep deep blacks and strong fade resistance. You'll get top-notch results in both these areas with BO. The only thing is the graininess, as I'm sure you're aware. You either like it or you don't.
