Here's one clue, Ink Republic also have the always full or auto reset 
chips for the 2400, so I would think that the chips are the same as the 
R800/1800 printers. Ink Republic had their CIS for the 2400 days after 
it came out, again pointing to the similar parts of both cart and chip. 
If you have an empty and a reset tool, there shouldn't be too much risk 
to trying it to find out.
