The R200 I have bands in BO mode, but is excellent when all the inks are firing. I have not seen prints make with the MS inks, but one thing you'll notice is that costs drop dramatically if you load your own cartridges from bulk ink. The MIS clear, easy-refill carts make this rather painless. In the MIS lineup, UT2 works OK in the R200 with driver controls (the 1280 curves don't work), but I'm probably going to try another approach with it -- not sure what yet, but probably a hextone analogy to the C86 EZ inkset. The R200 is capable of amazingly good prints, at least on matte paper -- visually as good as any printer at any price. In short, this little machine can do essentially perfect prints if set up correctly. So, you should see no artifacts at all. For matte prints the EEM is good for learning and prints that don't need to be archival, but it is acidic and will yellow eventually. For glossy prints, the Costco Kirkland Glossy inkjet paper is about as good and cheap as it gets for letter size. My initial impression is that the r200 prints more differently between matte and glossy papers than most of the other printers I've used. I'm not sure why. Good luck with your B&W.
