Steve - The bottom fill adapter needs a small piece of tubing around it to fit the hole. Buy one from MIS and see. Otherwise the shape isn't quite right and it makes a mess. With the correct adapter you can fill and empty the carts easily without destroying them. If you end up buying bulk inks, you can reuse the carts many times before they wear out.
