While I certainly agree on the subject of buying a quality motherboard, 
don't get an A8V, it will not support your current Pentium IV 2.53GHz 
CPU. Look at getting the latest Asus P4 motherboard instead, which will 
allow you to continue to use your current CPU. As to drives, avoid the 
Raptor as well, it's very expensive. The current Maxtor 300GB is almost 
as fast, and around the same price as a 72GB Raptor.
