Do you see any significant differences between these two with EAM? > Paul, I wish I could give you a hard data answer on this but I shut down my 1200 two days ago to make room for a second 1280. I don't think the profiles are version dependent but I can't be sure. If there was a difference in the profiles, I think that is was very slight. As I have found with the VM curves, they print very similarly over all the Epson matte and Hahbnemuhle papers. People also noted with the version 5 of Piezo that there was not a huge difference between the profiles in many cases. On the one hand the upgrade is only $49 but if you don't really need it...? If you are not having a problem with printing in 8-bit or centering images precisely on the paper you might want to save your money. I guess if you are happy with what you are getting, why change?
