Martin,

I downloaded a set of profiles that included EAM and they showed up in the
paper selection box. I don't know if these were intended for the ver. 6 and
won't work, since I don't have the right inks in there now.

That's what I was most interested in. Of course, if the EAM profile doesn't
work, that could be worth something. I've always used the Cone Tech Matte
profile. Do you see any significant differences between these two with EAM?

Paul,

I wish I could give you a hard data answer on this but I shut down my
1200 two days ago to make room for a second 1280. I don't think the
profiles are version dependent but I can't be sure. If there was a
difference in the profiles, I think that is was very slight. As I
have found with the VM curves, they print very similarly over all the
Epson matte and Hahbnemuhle papers. People also noted with the
version 5 of Piezo that there was not a huge difference between the
profiles in many cases.

On the one hand the upgrade is only $49 but if you don't really need
it...? If you are not having a problem with printing in 8-bit or
centering images precisely on the paper you might want to save your
money. I guess if you are happy with what you are getting, why change?

Paul,

the latest EAM profile for 4 color printers (1160 in my case) runs identically
between piezoBW driver versions 512 and 602.

As for the difference between the latest EAM and CTmatte profiles, please see
the graph I just uploaded in Files>Message Related Files>Dec 01

The graph is based on the values obtained when I subtract the ct matte
densities from the eam densities (i.e. density difference = EAM-CTmatte).
