At one point Nikon had said they were 'committed' to the smaller sensor size. I don't know if that's changed. It will be interesting to see the comparisons between the new Canon and the Nikon D2x since they both have the same pixel count. Canon still has to address their 1/4 success rate with their chip . . . if there is a mad rush for this camera there might well be long delays . . . that NEVER makes for a happy customer. It makes me think of the viruses . . . oops, excuse me, the "improved" OSs we have had from Apple and MS over the recent years . . . put on the market just to be ahead of the other guy, even though the product was barely ready. When ALL the cameras available are full frame that will be a step forward. I for one (along with a few thousand others) don't appreciate my multi-thousand dollar wide optics like a 14 f2.8 suddenly become a grotesquely overweight 21 f2.8 . . . that is not progress . . . it is BS.
