I just have a question about printing methods, papers and control. QTR offers an amazing level of control with the requisite input and LOE of creating curves for one's papers and inks, buying/using a densitometer and attendent software and the like. Paul's C86 + MIS Quadtone inks provides an amazing level of convencience, and pretty remarkable "out of the box" results with a wide variety of papers using just the Epson driver and the various sliders. Only a few papers seem to warrant application of an adjustment curve. Pretty amazing if you think about it. Since QTR can control so many different printers, I wonder if the addition of a few slider controls to QTR GUI could offer the convenience and quality of results of the C86 system but with a wider variety of papers/printers to folks (I guess like me) who don't have the tools/acumen to profile their own papers. For example, perhaps some QTR GUI sliders plus using some "base curves" (like the EEM curves or Entrada curves or whatever), might yield suitable results on different matte papers for which dedicated curves are not available, or perhaps, not yet available. For example, with 2200 or 4000 UC "2K" printing. Or is it the Quad inkset itself which allows for such flexibility, convenience and results with Paul's C86 system? Just a thought and a question. Thansk for all and any enlightenment. Scott
