This is more a 1280 problem than the fault of spongless carts. A year or two back when the 1280 was the newest machine in use, there was an endless string of 'clogs from hell' being reported. I finally gave up and put dyes back in mine. When I switched to the spongless carts, I had no trouble whatsoever-until I put Eboni in the K position, whereupon it clogged up in a matter of 2-3 prints. Let's face it, the 1280 was made for dyes-we've been lucky to be able to use it at all with pigments.
