Well, here is what works for me... Started with the Epson 2200 and MIS UT7 inkset (dedicated B&W inks) - got good results but did not have anything to really compare it with. Upgraded to the new Epson printers using Ultrachrome K3 inks - Much Better B&W output! Noticable difference in the final print. The Epson K3 inks are simply amazing with B&W. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, this may not be the answer for you, however, to get good results using any method is not going to be especially cheap. You can pick up a Epson R2400 for about $750.00 or so I think. If you do even a moderate amount of printing, it would be worth it. Hope it helps, Ben
