Steve, > > Can someone provide me with a comparison of how this paper looks vs > Premium Semi-gloss? >... I use Premium Semi-matte 24" rolls, and I really like it when sprayed and dry mounted on matte board. I'm hopeful that the new MIS base will do away with the spraying requirement. Epson Premium Semi-matte is a very good, relatively cheap paper. If Premium Semi-gloss rolls were available in the U.S., I'd probably use that paper instead of the Semi-matte. Look at the Semi-gloss lack of OBAs and Wilhelm display life estimates. The Semi-gloss paper base may also be better. The Semi-matte is lower in gloss. However, I compared the various papers to one of my dry-mounted, air-dried, F-surface silver prints, and the Semi-gloss won that contest too. I was going to see if I could find a trans-shipper to carry the Semi-gloss over here, but I couldn't and the price would go up too much. Also, I'm not sure the European Semi-gloss is the same paper we get in sheets over here. Look at the paper thickness. The European roll Semi-gloss appears to be a thinner paper.
