>I've just had a post from Johnny Brownlow outlining the new G5s so >I'll probably wait for that. > >Julian That seems to me a good idea. In fact I think waiting longer might be an even better idea. Because I recently heard that Adobe said that it plans to release the first OS-X version of Photoshop during the second quarter of 2002. Let's be optimistic and assume that its first bug fix is released by the end of the third quarter, and that the first OS-X version of "Real World Photoshop" is too. And that we've worn out our 1160s and no longer mind Epson's not having released an OS-X driver for them. I think then - in the fall - might be the best time to get a box designed with OS X in mind. But my strategy is to stay well back from the bleeding edge by buying the second generation, not the first, and by keeping the principal piece of hardware, the OS, and the principal piece of application software contemporaneous.
