Digital BW, The Print

Yes, I know.  This board is mostly about Epson, and the i9900 prints
lousy BW.  But I bought it, and I'm committed to it.

So, does anyone out there know of any ongoing testing of products
(RIPS, Inks, papers, etc), or products already on the market, to
improve it's capacity to print BW?

I am so dang frustrated trying to get a really good BW from the 9900.
