In the last year, Jon Cone at Inkjet Mall had written about the new 
Piezo inks working well with existing printer drivers, and I know they 
were testing
the Canon printers. Their inks are carbon pigment and at least my 
experience with them since the late '90s has been very positive. You 
might
want to contact them and see how it all worked out - I personally, 
haven't used any of the Canon printers. They also have a yahoo user
