[Digital BW] Re: Premier Luster Rag Smooth

2005-10-22 by Carl Schofield

I tried some of the PremierArt Luster Rag but was not impressed. Dmax with PK ink was
only about 1.4 vs 1.8 with MK. Using the latter ink produced pronounced gloss differential
and ink rub off in dark areas. The paper is heavy but also quite stiff (like cardboard) and
subject to curl (did this right out of the box). Color is off white. Surface coating looks like
any RC luster and is also sensitive to scuffing and finger marks. Prints also have annoying
surface reflections, like RC luster papers. Not at all like the Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Satin
which has a more subtle finish.
