You may want to stay in color all the way through the digital process. In other words produce a color neg on the Pictorino. Sounds odd, but you can control density much better with color inks than in gray scale. Your actual printed output will be gray scale because that's what the emulsion (platinum, albumin, etc) will make. See Mark Nelson's on-line book (which is really well written and produced) at www.precisiondigitalnegatives.com. I think this may be a real advance over the Dan Burkholder approach, which is gray scale based.
