I'm torn between an Epson 1160 and 1280. I've heard how carts are without a chip on the 1160, allowing artists to experiment with inks. Someone asked where to find an 1160. I searched and found this link at yahoo: http://shopping.yahoo.com/shop?d=zpij&id=1990315993&clink= dmks/epson_1160_printer As to the 1280, the specs indicate it should do better than the 1160, but with chips on carts. I'm not sure you can get a good black-and-white print with the 1280. Haven't heard anyone with a combination of curves and inks doing it. Course, I am new here. I can get a 1280 for the same price. So it's near a toss-up on price for these printers. (See http://queen.pricewatch.com/search/searchcat.idq?ne=35013&l= 34967&CiCodePage=Windows-1252&cr=epson+1280&qc=%22 EPSON%22*+AND+%221280%22*+AND+@ctd+11&catd=11&ct =Computer&cn=Printers) Anyone have an idea of which way I should go? I just want to make quality black-and-white prints on archival paper with archival inks. Al
