When printing with an ICC profile you need to make sure your 'grey' file is an RGB file and you print through the profiled path exactly as you would for a colour image. It is not unusual, even with a good paper profile, to find a residual color cast when printing a colour neutral file. In general, colour printers have not been a good way to attack monochrome except by using grey inks, RIPS etc. The new Epson R2400 is however very good with its standard inkset.
