I'm not Greg, but I use the HPR Satin, and it's intended for use with Matte Black, which is great for those of us who have only Matte Black loaded in the printer -- I can continue to use all my matte papers and use the HPR Satin when I need more of a gloss. I absolutely love HPR Satin for B&W, but am becoming less enchanted with it for color -- it's fine, but doesn't really look much better than my color prints on Innova Smooth Cotton. As mentioned earlier, certain areas take on a differential reflectivity that makes them have a brown/purplish sheen when tilted against the light. But it hasn't been noticeable to me for B&W; only for color. Plus, in general, the HPR Satin has a bit too much texture for all uses. I'm eagerly looking forward to the Crane Silver Rag, though; if it's good enough, I might swap my 4800 over to Photo Black. (Or get a 9800 plus the new version of ImagePrint with the Phatte Black mode to allow both Photo and Matte Black to be loaded at the same time without swapping, and keep my 4800 dedicated to Matte Black). --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "scott_now_coming" <scott_now_coming@y...> wrote: > > Hi Greg, > > Which black ink does Hahnemuhle recommend for HPR Satin?
