Since you're just wasting ink with all the cleanings, try this: Load a piece of plain paper and print an 8x10" photo. Chances are, half way through that print, the air bubbles will subside and the printer will be ready to print. I do this often after re-filling one of the carts in my c86. I run a nozzle check, and if it needs a "cleaning", I'll just print an 8x10 instead. It works almost everytime. Let us know if this works for you.
