Paul, I have experience with large, fantastically expensive touch screens; many hundreds of hours. For what _we_ do, I think the pointing device would actually be in the way, and that applies to the Cintiq as well. With the tablets, having a configurable size and shape pointer, that can even be turned off as well is a benefit for photo work, IMO.
