Digital BW, The Print

I'm considering "self-publishing" a few books of writing and quad ink 
prints - the final piece would be bound, so the paper needs to: 
a.) be thinner than what you'd want for a display print
b.) excellent print quality (it needn't come any larger than 8.5x11)
c.) be able to take the abuse of constant turning pages 

Any recommendations for a paper ?

Anyone made a book & have some experience to share ?
