Comparing the C86 and R220, the C86 gets a bit better glossy dmax, the R220 gets a superior matte dmax. The C86 has fewer inks to mess with, but it's also not as smooth as the R220. For BO the C86 samples seem to vary. I think most find C86 BO is not smooth enough. It may be individual quality control that varies. It's hard to lose much with either of these printers.
