However, now having an R200 and R220, both made for dyes, I'm beginning to wonder about the dye v. pigment design significance. So far the R200 & R220 have been perfect. Time will tell, but I'm now wondering if a significant part of the 1280 problems were cart related -- which doesn't alter the bottom line conclusion that, on average, the 2200 appears to be a more reliable printer. In the 1280's favor, I think the 2200 and that entire first generation of UC printers had a weak matte paper dmax. Paul www.PaulRoark.com
