Digital BW, The Print

The ColorVision spectrocolorimeter I am beta testing reads out in LAB 
values.  I would like to utilize this to evaluate the degree of 
blackness of prints.  "L" valueThe scale is 0 to 100, 0 being black, 
and 100 being white.

Can anyone come up with a conversion to the density values I see 
bandied about in this list?
