Jack, You can use the campanding calculator on Bruce Lindbloom's site. http://www.brucelindbloom.com/ If you spectro works with QuickRead, that will read out both in Lab and density values. It used to be a free download at www.icctools.com, but the link doesn't seem to be working anymore. I'm not sure if it is still available or not. I'm sure there are other utilities that provide both Lab and density values, but at least the Companding Calculator will work, even though it isn't as convenient as QuickRead.
