I use an Epson 2200 with OEM pigments..I leave it on for days at a time, have left it off for a month or more on several occasions. I've not had a trace of anything like clogging in two years, and I'm in dry New Mexico. The carts do not dry out when they're removed from the machine, don't require baggies or refrigeration or any type of seal because the carts are so well designed, self-sealing. I may start using Eboni with the Epson pigments, and I will not be surprised if I do have occasional clogs with that. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "bflat467" <bflat467@y...> wrote: > > Hi everyone. > I'm trying to choose a printer for B&W use, and I am quite concerned > by the head clogging problems, as I could happen to leave the printer > idle for weeks sometime. > I've dreamed of finding a suitable dye-sub printer with B&W > cartridges, but the choice seems limited, if any. > On the ink jet side, some people seem to survive well with head > clogging issues, other seem to quit home printing for the same reason. > I'd like to collect some opinion on that.
