ColorBase has little or no effect on a printer already well centered its
range. So whether a given printer gets better results with it invoked would tend
to vary from printer to printer. Any extra step has the potential to make
results less, not more, accurate, if everything is not working just right. If you
were getting odd results driving the spectro from ColorBase, I would assume
that there was a problem there which is responsible for your odd results.
