Flatbed scanners have normally just selected white float glass
in their scan bed. Selected means that it is checked on air
bells in the glass and tin spots on the surface. White meaning
that the glass is somewhat less green. The rest is optically
correct enough for the job. So you order from a company that
does the selection for you or you order more sheets from your
local glass supplier and check the glass yourself. Don't make
too much fuss about the "white" issue, with 2 mm thick glass
this isn't a problem. I had some talks with the representative
of a German optical glass supplier and his comments are
expressed here.
Have to make a page on my site with all the details.
