I don't know where this irrational obsession with spongless carts has come from. The MIS refillable 2200 carts are great and easy to use. Just top fill with a syringe through the hole and put in the plug. Done. No muss, no fuss, no priming, no vacuum anything. When you put them in the slot, let the ink carriage sit for 5 minutes before pressing the ink button. This allows the new ink to work its way down into the head. Press the ink button too soon and you'll have air in the heads and get bad nozzle tests and have to do cleaning cycles and waste ink. Just wait 5 minutes or so and you'll rarely have to do cleaning cycles. I usually insert the new carts and then head for the kitchen for a snack.
