Eric Yes, most large sizes will have long grain direction. The problem is exactly as you mention, once you go to smaller sheets manufacturers are cutting in any direction they feel will generate the most amount of money. This is fine but then they mix and match and do not label the grain direction because they cannot guarantee the direction of grain. If you are working with master sheets than it sounds like you should be able to plan accordingly for your book project. Eric T. When platinum printing I noticed most full size sheets had the grain all running one way. It was only on smaller sizes that grain started to change from one direction to another.
