White lines across prints

2006-02-18 by Clarence Walker

In regard to the questions of the settings used:

The RIP was the standard Quadtone RIP suggested by Media Street. All
settings were the original default settings. Being a new R200, the Media
Street Quadtone Generations inks, the suggested MediaStreet Quadtone Lustre
paper, and the RIP I first wanted to get familiar with the process before
making a lot of changes.

Previously, I had made a few test prints on some semi-gloss and lustre
papers papers from Inkpress/B&H Photo that printed beautifully.

On the Generations Lustre there was more of an appearance of the ink being
on the top of the surface with 3/4 inch wide bands of very fine white lines.
There is the appearance of the ink not having been absorbed or possibly not
having been laid down in sufficient quantity as to fill the image properly
that started with the first pass of the ink head.
