Thanks Vartkes for yr comments. In fact, the ABW has in the Color 
Management mode the possibility of toning the photo. Try it. You will 
see that there is a color circle where you can choose the tonality of 
your print. There are also other commands that allow you to increase 
or diminish the tonality in the shadows and highlights. After 
choosing the tonality in the circle - h10 and v10 as suggested by a 
member of the forum, I tried to reduce the tonality in the shadows 
and highlights to the minimum, i.e. -26. It seemed to me that it 
worked for the shadows but not for the highlights. I would like to 
know if this is all one can do, in order to tone only the midtones, 
leaving a deep black in the shadows and pure white in th highlights.
