Would some of you guys know how to help me in the flg: I would like to produce a picture that is oriiginal black in the shadows, has a warm tone in the midtones and is the original white in the highlights, using the ABW in the R2400? Paulo

You could create your toning in Photoshop, however, and just print via the standard method (i.e., using the paper's profile and without using the ABW mode). The R2400 prints very nice mono using the Epson profiles. Otherwise, I guess you would have to go with some type of RIP. I'm pretty sure Imageprint will handle split-toning - not sure about QTR or any others these days. (I stopped experimenting when I received my R2400!) HTH -

ImagePrint RIP running on Epson 2200, will accept 'colorized' images that are in the RGB space and print beautiful greyscale and color portions. You can print it on R2400 through its colour driver (disable ABW) I have not yet tried this version. Vartkes

Thanks Vartkes for yr comments. In fact, the ABW has in the Color Management mode the possibility of toning the photo. Try it. You will see that there is a color circle where you can choose the tonality of your print. There are also other commands that allow you to increase or diminish the tonality in the shadows and highlights. After choosing the tonality in the circle - h10 and v10 as suggested by a member of the forum, I tried to reduce the tonality in the shadows and highlights to the minimum, i.e. -26. It seemed to me that it worked for the shadows but not for the highlights. I would like to know if this is all one can do, in order to tone only the midtones, leaving a deep black in the shadows and pure white in th highlights.
