Having long used the Canon i9900, which does an incredible job of what it does do, the cost per thimble full of ink is around 11.00 US. Maybe some of you are aware of refill kits that work reliably or bulk feeders for the i9900? Personally, I don't know how any printer can be considered a "professional" printer as long as the primary ink feed demands such tiny cartridges in lieu of a bulk feed system. Aye, there's the rub, the manufacturer's make a fortune off of requiring us to submit to the ridiculously small cartridges in the first place, patent or not. If they had simple ink feed lines to the print head without the stupid cartridges, there would be no issue. THIS is a marketing issue and a form of control to which we submit and for which we pay a huge premium. Simply moving over to Canon or any manufacturer while maintaining any system that even requires either refills of the cartridges or third party, jury rigging won't address the basic problem. If we are to make our voices known, perhaps this should at least be partly that which is addressed. Clarence W.
