Re: [Digital BW] why the 1160?

2002-01-11 by Jerry Olson

It wouldn't be preferable to a 1280, which can print better overall
prints. But it was the first good printer that could take a continuous
inking system with quad inks, and turn out photo quality prints. A lot
of photographers bought it and were quite happy. THe 1280 has smaller
dot patterns and gives smoother, but not sharper results. Either printer
is excellent, but why not go with the 1280 and get the latest
technology? You still need a CIS system, (Niagara, from
http://www.mediastreet.com ) and a set of quad inks if you are primarily
into black and white printing.
