I've recently started doing some experiments with Pictorico's Photo Gallery
Hi-Gloss White Film, which, as the name implies, is actually a thin sheet of
plastic rather than paper. It's _very_ glossy (as in mirror-like), and
produces good results. I've shown samples to various people who all
preferred it to the various matte papers I personally like.
It does have a couple of downsides. The first is that it's very
expensive--around $2/sheet for letter size. The other is that there's some
gloss differential even with Ultrachrome K3 on one of the photos I've tried.
Turning on the white point shift option in the Advanced B&W settings has
mostly gotten rid of it (enough so you have to look really closely and know
where to look to see any).
