R220 questions on B&W .icc profiles from Paul Roark

2006-04-03 by mimimike43

I know the recommended printing and editing software that Paul
recommends to use for .icc profiles is Photoshop Elements. While I do
use PSE4 for my editing, I am using Qimage for my printing. Would
there be anything that I should be aware of when using Qimage rather
than Photoshop for printing with the .icc profiles that Paul offers for
the R220? Are there any settings in Photoshop Elements that should be
attended to firstly(other than editing my respective file), before I
print through Qimage re: gamma settings.

Also, as per the .icc profile for Hahnemuhle Photo Rag, is that for
their 188gsm. paper? Would I need a different profile for other
Hahnemuhle papers re: William Turner(Textured Surface) matte 190gsm.?
Or even the heavier Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308gsm.(can the 220 handle
that thick of a paper?).

Thank you in advance Paul, or any other forum memebers.

Mike
