Absolutely. Especially with the Pulse since it rides about 5mm about the paper. But the same goes for the i1 and DTP22. Consider that the DTP 22 has a foot the nearly seals against both the paper and the spectro. Normal room illumination doesn't really cause too much of a problem, but when daylight comes in from a window, your measurements WILL be different. I haven't noticed a difference from media, so I'm not sure if that has as much effect as the ambient light getting in around the edges of the spectro.
