I use the MIS K4 (Epson K3 equivalent inkset) inks without the LLK ink in both my old 2200 and the 4000. Works great with a RIP (both QTR and ColorBurst X-Photo with custom cmyk profiles for the latter), but I haven't tried with the Epson driver. I think the Epson driver would also work with a custom RGB profile.
