Hello -- I'm contemplating if I could improve my 2200's d-max on matte paper by using a third-party ink to replace just the matte-black cartridge in my 2200. (Meanwhile, I'd stick with the OEM ultrachromes on the other colors, so as to not rock the boat too much). Yes, I know that an R2400 upgrade would get me a higher D-Max, but I don't feel like replacing my 2200-with-ImagePrint6 system. I know MediaStreet sells a G-Chrome (G6) matte black cartridge which might accomplish this, but I have no confirmation as to whether it would produce a better black than the 2200's OEM MK. Also, there's probably a comparable ink sold by MIS. Anyone with info that might be helpful? Should I go for it?
