Paul,
As you and I are both aware, we each believe in two different ways of
viewing business and government.
You generally believe that the free market should always be allowed to
price itself without government control. It's implicit in many debates
we have had, on many lists. Debates like the recent commentary over the
EPSON court settlement in California, and EPSON's supposed right to chip
cartridges to prevent recycling, reuse, and 3rd party ink refills.
This is just another one of those debates..
I'd also note that I allow you all the freedom you wish (which you
certainly use) to comment on such issues on my lists. So, it's more
than a tad hypocritical for you to be asking me to self-censor here,
especially by arguing that I would somehow limit your right to comment
on my lists. As you know, I rarely even clamp down on conversations for
becoming less than wholly germane to those lists, and in the absence of
personal attack, I NEVER shut down discussion of, or ban people for
engaging in germane discussion, even when it's barely tangential.
