I think the inkjet papers that have a finish that is closest to the old silver prints are Crane Museo Silver Rag and Innova Fiber Gloss (sold by PermaJet in Europe as Fibre Based Gloss). To get the tone the same you'd probably have to make a custom profile/curve with one of the variable-tone inksets from MIS. I am interested in making profiles for the traditional papers for the MIS UT-3D inkset. So, if people will send me Lab readings of the great old silver papers, or a sample or test strip of such with a good selection of densities, I'll take a shot at a profile that will match that old paper with one of these new inkjet papers. I currently have the UT-3D running on the 220, 2200 and 2400. Contact me of list if you're interested in trading a sample print/test strip for a profile for one of these printers and the UT-3D inkset. Paul www.PaulRoark.com
