Digital BW, The Print

Calling all experts (they are the ones who have done this before),

I have an Epson Silver 1280 printer that I purchased new and have up
to recently used only color inks in it by MIS inks. I think they are
dyebase, and now I want to use the newer printer for BW printing also.
Should there be any undesirable side effects from doing this. My other
1280 is slowly giving up the ghost and I don't have funds for a
replacement 1280 printer, so till I do, I'll have to make the Silver
1280 do double duty as both BW and Color.
