Re: Epson R220 Photo Rag Problem

2006-07-13 by Steven Karafyllakis

Hi Chris;

There are sveral things that might help:

A) under the Maintenance tab in the driver, there's a button
labeled 'Printer and option information' check the box for 'thick paper
and envelopes & see if that helps
B) the most common solution is to put a little pressure on the paper as
the machine tries to pull it in. Sometimes it helps to have a piece of
thin cardboard or several sheets of paper in the tray behind the piece
you're using.
c) Check the soft rubber cam-like gear in the paper take-up slot to
make sure it is clean, it collects fuzz and dust from this kind of
paper very quickly. Clean it with a q-tip and alcohol if it looks even
a little dirty.

d) If all else fails- apply a strip 3/4 inch masking tape across the
bottom such that a third of it is stuck to the BACK surface of the
paper, and the remainder is folded over onto itself as evenly as
possible. Sticking it to the back surface only means that it is easy to
peel off, and it doesn't damage the printing side. This gives the
printer something easier to grab onto. Obviously its a pain to do
repeatedly, and it doesn't always work

Best,
